Merchandise Preparation / Tagging Procedures:

Supplies
  • 65 lb. cardstock paper (white or pastel, no dark colors)
  • Tagging gun BUY HERE
  • Hole punch and ribbon
  • Safety pins
  • Small Zip Ties
  • Hangers (shirt and pant)  
  • Packing Tape 

Pricing
  • Price to sell.  You don’t want it back!  Consignors with competitive prices end up taking less home and earning more money. View our price reference guide if you are stumped!
  • 50 - 75% off retail is a good rule of thumb.
  • Ask yourself, "What would I pay at a consignment sale?"
  • Offer your items at ½ OFF the discount days. Half the money is better than no money! (Discount days start 5 days after full price, if it has not sold for full price yet, it probably will not).

Prepare clothing and accessories
  • Item limit of 75 hanging pieces and unlimited shoes, handbags, accessories, etc - UP TO 250 total items.
  • Category limits: Spring: 10 pants, Fall: 15 pants, 5 skirts, 25 jewelry, 10 scarves.
  • Make sure all clothing is clean and free of rips or tears.
  • Secure all buttons and zippers.
  • Hang clothing with hangers facing left like a ? - ? - ?  (see Prepping Your Items video below).
  • When hanging SETS be sure to secure both items/hangers together with a rubber band.
  • Use notch hangers for strappy items (tanks & dresses) - no pins please.
  • All bottoms must be hung by the waistband on a pant hanger, no pins please.
  • Tagging guns can be used in place of safety pins, please only tag in seams or in manufacturer's tags.
  • Green Jeans will rent pant hangers if you wish to bring your bottoms without hangers. A $5 rental fee will be deducted from your check following the sale.  $5 for up to 25 hangers.
  • Please DO NOT use safety pins when hanging bottoms. 
  • Please do not bring shoes in boxes. We do not have room to display shoes with boxes. DO NOT tie or tape your shoes together.
  • Belts, scarves and hats will not require hangers.  They will be displayed on tables or hung on hooks.

Complete and Print Tags
Tags will include: consignor # , item description, size, price, Discount Yes or No & Donate Yes or No. 
Each consignor will determine if they will:
  • Keep their item at full price or discount to ½ OFF during the last days of the sale (recommended).  Sellers have a MUCH higher percentage of items sold when they choose the Discount YES option.
  • Donate the item after the sale by selecting "Yes" or "No" from the drop down box.   **Mark all items DONATE YES and you can participate in express drop off (no waiting for your items to be quality checked!)

To Print: use an inkjet printer with a normal (not best quality) printout.  The barcode needs to appear crisp and clear.  Be sure your printer has been calibrated and set-up correctly.  Note: you can save your tags as a pdf file and print them anywhere.  Copy centers will also cut them for you for a minimal fee!  A great option if you do not have a reliable printer.

Attach Tags to Items
  • Attach your tag to the front of each hanging garments. We prefer tags be located on the front top right of the item.
  • Some garments are too delicate to pin tags to the front. For those special garments or when using a tagging gun, we recommend attaching tags to a seam or inside label.
  • Tags must be securely attached to shoes with ribbon and hole punch, safety pins or packing tape. Shoppers will be handling and trying them on. Please see “How To Tag Shoes” video (below) for further instruction. DO NOT tie your shoes together.
  • When tagging highend accessories, shoes, handbags, jewelry ( > $75 price), place shipping tape OVER the area you hole punch the opening to attach tag + for larger items, add MULTIPLE mini zip ties (can be found at Walmart). 
  • When using packing tape on shoes, be sure it sticks.  If not, tape to the inside of the shoe or use ribbon and hole punch.  If tags get lost, we cannot sell your item!
  • For high end/designer items, DO NOT attach tags to shoe boxes or sunglass cases (shoe boxes only allowed with designer brands) as the box/case most likely will not stay with shoes/accessory.  Write 'With Box' or 'With case' on price tag so we know to check for box/case under table in designer section.
  • Affix tags to other loose accessories using a tagging gun, ribbon or safety pins.
  • For jewelry, attach tags using ribbon and hole punch. 
  • Earrings can be attached to card stock tag and taped on the back to further secure the earrings.
